Abstract The phenomenal success of physics in explaining nature and engineering machines is predicated on low dimensional deterministic models that accurately describe a wide range natural phenomena. Physics provides computational rules govern physical systems the interactions constituents therein. Led by deep neural networks, artificial intelligence (AI) has introduced an alternate data-driven framework, with astonishing performance domains do not lend themselves to such as image classification speech recognition. These gains, however, come at expense predictions are inconsistent world well complexity, latter placing AI collision course expected end semiconductor scaling known Moore’s Law.
